Ageing Well is pleased to join forces with our sister Challenges to release a research outputs inventory.
Over eight years of research, Ageing Well has produced significant outputs that are helping New Zealanders to age well. In order to ensure these outputs are easily accessible by policy makers, service providers, carers, and more, we have collaborated with the two other health-related National Science Challenges – Healthier Lives and A Better Start – to produce an inventory of our research outputs.
This document, Ngā taunakitanga mō te hauora me te toiora i Aotearoa New Zealand | Evidence for health and wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand [updated August 2024], highlights some of the key research projects led by Challenge researchers and their impact on the wider community.
“We are conscious that as the end of our Challenge’s lifespan draws closer, we invest in efforts to capture and circulate the great results that Ageing Well and our sister Challenges have achieved,” said Ageing Well Director Professor Louise Parr-Brownlie.
“We are proud to collaborate with Healthier Lives and A Better Start, to ensure the maximum impact for such an important document,” she added.
The inventory contains information about:
new models of care and evidence of their effectiveness; frameworks and tools for ensuring that services deliver equitable outcomes; new clinical pathways and treatments; custom-designed apps, chatbots, games, and websites; information resources to translate knowledge for service providers; and more.
It is organised according to the priority areas set out in Te Pae Tata Interim New Zealand Health Plan 2022:
- Better health in our communities
- Maternity and early years
- People living with cancer
- People living with chronic health conditions
- People living with mental distress, illness and addictions
And also includes the addition of two other important priorities:
- Ageing well
- Climate change
Aiming to maximise adoption of the research
Ageing Well anticipates this inventory will ensure the evidence and resources created over the life of our Challenge, as well as those of A Better Start and Healthier Lives, are widely available, to maximise their adoption.
We encourage you to take a look at the research inventory [updated August 2024]and share it with your networks.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any suggestions for improving the inventory.
