The former Director of Ageing Well, Professor Louise Parr-Brownlie was welcomed to the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) in October with a mihi whakatau.
She was supported by her whānau, as well as Ageing Well’s Dr Will Edwards (Chair), Koro Hata Temo (Kaumātua), Professor David Baxter (Director), matua Rauru Kirikiri and Dr David Schaaf (members of the Governance Group).
Koro Hata Temo made the whaikōrero on behalf of Ageing Well and Dr Willy-John Martin for MBIE. It was an incredibly moving experience for all in the room when MBIE’s Piriwiritua Rurawhe and Will Edwards did the same haka during the hand over.
Many thanks to matua Piriwiritua Rurawhe, Dr Willy-John Martin, Nic Blakeley, Danette Olsen, Gill Jolly, Prue Williams, and Emily Parker for receiving Professor Parr-Brownlie and her wider whānau.
We look forward to working with Professor Parr-Brownlie and her team at MBIE as we serve the science sector in Aotearoa.
